If you would like to change the location of your metadata folder, you can do so following the article below.

Some scenarios or reasons for change might be the following:

  5. You are updating and cleaning up your metadata
Step 1 - Backup your current metadata folder
It is very important to always backup the metadata repository before making changes to your Sage Intelligence Reporting installations.

The Alchemex.svd file and Templates folder’s are the only folders that need to be backed up with our installation.

To backup the folder, you two options:

Option 1
  1. Launch the Report Manager
  2. It is displayed on your Home Screen in the top form field of the right-hand side Properties window. It is labelled: Metadata Repository Location
  3. Alternatively, go to Help > About > Repository Details tab and find the Repository Path

4. Be sure to copy the entire folder. Getting this wrong will cause errors.

Option 2
  1. Launch the Report Manager
  2. Select File
  3. Select Backup Metadata and Templates
  4. Accept the dialogue to close
  5. Select the path to backup to

Please ensure that you are a Domain Administrator or have access to the metadata folder when you complete this process

Step 2 - Point the software to the new location
Once you have backed up and then made of copy of exactly the same folder on the new workstation or server, do the following on ALL machines running the product

  1. Launch the Report Manager
  2. Go to File > Change Metadata Repository

4. When prompted, input the path to the new folder. The folder path should be one higher level than the alchemex.svd file and Templates folder found within it
