Sybiz BIC (v18) - Error launching Modules


You come across an issue where clicking on the Report Manager, Connector or License Manager icons does not launch anything.

  1. It will launch the BICore.exe in the Task Manager Processes however it launches and then closes immediately
  2. When you run the Process Manager (PROCMAN) it shows some warnings but no failures

Resolution - in Sybiz 18 there is an issue where you are unable to change the metadata path at the login screen for Sybiz BIC.

If there an instance where the default directory for BIC is not available. i.e. as a Mapped path for example, then the product will go into an endless loop.

  1. Ensure that the path has the ability to see the Metadata defined at the login screen
  2. Give full control to the following folders:
      • C:\program files\sybiz
      • C:\program files (x86)\Common Files\BiComponents
      • C:\program files (x86)\Common Files\BiComponentsDotNet
      • C:\program files (x86)\Common Files\BiExcelFuntions1.1
      • C:\program files (x86)\Common Files\BiGenerator
